This report identifies 5 types of potential issues in your data upload on Cozero, and is intended as a verification step at the end of your carbon accounting process. We will send it to you alongside an export of your log data, as a means of verifying the completeness, and quality, of the data you have uploaded on the Cozero platform.
Video tutorial
This report is organized in two sections, labelled Quality - Issues, and Quality - Outliers. The issues are potential problems happening at the log, or log entry level, while the Outliers show inconsistencies in the data you have logged over time.
Quality issues section
In the overview tab, you can see the different types of potential issues in your account, for each location, per year. The details tab gives you more information on each potentially problematic log entry.
Issue types:
Zero or no emission
Appears when log entries have zero emissions, which can be due to the user adding partial of null activity data leading to no emissions.
Potential duplicate
Potential duplicate will always be in group of two rows, and tell you which log IDs, or log entries IDs, are duplicated.
Suspicious text
This checks for logs with a text entry containing the words "test, demo, wip, to delete," etc.
Log without log entry data
This kind of potential issue will only have a log ID, no log entry ID. It shows that a user created a log in one of the Cozero categories, without adding any spend or activity data. It can mean that a user started the process of logging data in Cozero without finishing the task, deleted log entries without deleting the log, or that a bulk import was partially filled, or uploaded.
We recommend reviewing all the issues raised in this report individually, to determine whether it is a confirmed issue, or if the data was uploaded in an intended way.
Quality Outliers section
In the overview tab, you can see the different types of potential outliers in your account, for each location. Each outlier identified by our reporting tool is a statistically significant inconsistency in your logged emissions, over the report time period.
The details tab shows the monthly emissions per problematic log over the analysis period. The “issue” column provides some guidance on the time span and type of outliers. You can have an outlier, or a gap in your data. Issues can also happen within a year, or over two years. All the problematic values are highlighted in red.
Actions to take when reviewing the report
For Suspicious text, review each log or log entry, and determine whether they need to be changed or deleted.
For duplicated logs, delete one of the two. If the list has over 10 duplicates, you can ask your Climate Success Manager for support. For that, simply highlight the log or log entry IDs you want to delete in bulk, and send us the file.
For log entries with Zero or no emissions, review the values you have uploaded in Cozero, and determine whether they were correct or need to be changed.
For logs without log entry data, determine whether the log was left undone, or intended to be deleted, and take the necessary actions.
If you observe calculation issues, click on the individual logs in Cozero to recalculate them. If the issue persists, please contact your Climate Success Manager.
If you have any other questions, you can contact your Climate Success Manager via email, or ask the Cozero support directly through our green chat button on the platform.
